Family Law Document Preparation

Family law matters can be stressful enough without having to manage a stack of forms, filing requirements, and court paperwork on your own.

Affordable Legal Help is here to make that part of the process easier. We prepare and organize the documents based on the information and instructions you provide, help you understand what paperwork is needed, and give you clear practical instructions for the next steps. Whether your case is agreed or contested, our goal is to take as much of the paperwork burden off your shoulders as possible so you can focus on your family and the decisions that matter most.

Divorce

Every divorce is different. Some couples have already agreed on everything before they contact us, while others are still working through issues involving property, debts, children, support, or the marital home.

We prepare documents for both uncontested and contested divorce cases, with or without children. We start by gathering the information needed about your marriage and the issues involved, then prepare the paperwork based on the terms you provide and the relief you are requesting.

If you and your spouse have reached an agreement, we can prepare the documents needed to put those terms in writing and move the case toward completion. If the case is contested, we can prepare the requested pleadings, responses, motions, financial documents, and other paperwork based on your instructions as the case progresses.

When children are involved, we can also prepare the Parenting Plan and child support paperwork using the information you provide regarding income, time-sharing, insurance, child care, and other applicable expenses.

You do not have to know the names of all the forms before contacting us. Tell us where things stand, and we can help you understand the document preparation process from there.

Paternity

When parents are not married, a paternity case can be used to establish legal paternity and address important issues involving the child.

These cases may involve parental responsibility, time-sharing, parenting schedules, holidays, child support, health insurance, and other child-related matters.

Some parents come to us with a complete agreement already worked out. Others may agree on some issues but not others. In either situation, we can prepare the appropriate documents based on the information and instructions provided.

Our role is to make sure the paperwork reflects what you are asking for and is organized for the next step in the court process. We do not decide what either parent should request or provide legal advice, but we can take much of the administrative burden off your plate.

Modifications

Life changes, and sometimes an existing court order no longer fits the family’s current circumstances.

A modification may involve changes to time-sharing, a Parenting Plan, child support, parental responsibility, holiday schedules, or other provisions of an existing Final Judgment or court order.

We typically begin by reviewing the current order so we can see exactly what is already in place. From there, you tell us what has changed and what you want reflected in the new paperwork.

If both parties agree, we can prepare the documents needed to put the new terms in writing. If the requested change is contested, we can prepare the appropriate filing and related documents based on your instructions.

The goal is to make the paperwork side of the process as organized and manageable as possible.

Our service is designed to make the process as simple as possible.
